Sherri tycker inte att Perry är svart nog att representera mångfald i skolans katalog, men Charlie är helt övertygad om att Perry blev antagen till Yale på grund av sin hudfärg och inte sina studieresultat. Admissions dissekerar det vita, liberala Amerikas ideal och motsägelser med en intelligent skärpa. Admissions hade premiär Off-Broadway tidigare i år och Joshua Harmons senaste pjäs, Skintight, har premiär i New York inom kort med Broadwaystjärnan Idina Menzel (Wicked) i en av huvudrollerna.

Sherri Rosen Mason works as the Admissions Director at Hillcrest, a New England boarding prep school. Sherri is married to Bill, the Head Master of the school. Their son, Charlie, is one of the top students. Sherri works hard to increase the diversity of the mainly white student body. She and her husband follow the statistics meticulously. Sherri and Bill are white. Their son is white. Their wine is white.

As Bill and Sherri are about to celebrate the mark of 20 % diversity at Hillcrest, their son finds out that he was not accepted at Yale. His best friend Perry was, and – Perry is black. Or is he? Sherri does not think Perry is black enough to represent diversity in the school catalogue, but Charlie is convinced that Perry got accepted at Yale because of the colour of his skin and not for his test results. This is just the tip of this crumbling white iceberg...
