BORDERS
By Henry Naylor
8th of December 2020
The last reading of 2020 was performed for an enthusiastic online audience from Sweden, Egypt and Australia!
Homs, Syria – a desperate artist expresses her rage at the Assad regime by spraying the walls of her devastated city with subversive graffiti.
London, UK – an idealistic, young photographer gradually betrays all of his principals as he climbs the greasy pole of fame and celebrity.
Told through two alternating monologues, Borders is an urgent, moving, and occasionally hilarious commentary on one of the great crises of our time.
Among playwright Henry Naylor’s previous work is Games, which Playhouse did a reading of earlier this year. Naylor is also a a prominent writer of satirical scripts for TV shows and series and has been named ”one of our best new playwrights” by The Times.
”A profound reminder of the power of art and culture” – Evening Standard

”Borders shifts between poetry, humour and nail-biting action to smash through our mental borders” – InDaily
