Det hela utvecklas till att de iklär sig rollerna som bargäst och bartender och börjar spela upp skämtets händelseförlopp – ett komiskt och samtidigt obehagligt sådant.

Repliker från pjäsens två lager vävs in i varandra och skämtet eskalerar till en drabbning om genus, könsroller och makt. Rachel Blairs meta-pjäs A Man Walks Into a Bar är i sig själv ett argument i debatten och ger en skavande spegling av verkligheten.

As the lines between the performers and the bar characters blend together, a tense and funny standoff about gender, power, and selling sex emerges.  Rachel Blair’s meta-theatrical A Man Walks Into a Bar is an argument in itself and holds up an uncomfortable mirror to real life.
