a man walks into a bar

A woman and a man on stage, facing the audience. She’s about to tell them a joke and he’s about to “help” her tell it properly. The joke goes: A man walks into a bar and meets a waitress... They end up performing the joke in a funny yet disturbing course of events.
As the lines between the performers and the bar characters blend together, a tense and funny standoff about gender, power, and selling sex emerges. Rachel Blair’s meta-theatrical A Man Walks Into a Bar is an argument in itself and holds up an uncomfortable mirror to real life.
